Urban Meyer's steakhouse Urban Chophouse being sold, will change branding – USA TODAY

Urban Chophouse, the joint venture between former Ohio State University football coach Urban Meyer and Columbus restaurateur Chris Corso, has been sold to a private investment group and will drop its “Urban” branding.
The steakhouse opened to great fanfare just last spring.
Details of the sale have not yet been revealed, including to whom the restaurant was sold. However, Corso’s company, One Hospitality, appears to still be involved.
CJ Amadi, director of concierge for One Hospitality, confirmed the sale in an email to The Dispatch, saying the private investment group had “local roots” and in partnership with the group, One Hospitality would “continue to make sure Chophouse remains the premiere dining and entertainment spot in Greater Columbus.”
Amadi noted the venue would continue to operate with the same steakhouse concept, but under “Chophouse 614” branding. The Dispatch is attempting to reach representatives for Urban Meyer.
As of Friday morning, the “Urban” branding was still apparent at the restaurant, including a cardboard cutout of the former Ohio State football coach outside the front door. Meyer has been mired by controversy, especially after taking on the role of the Jacksonville Jaguars head coach. He was fired from that job late last year.
“One Hospitality is committed to consistently working to improve our neighborhood and city and has absolute confidence that the new management along with our current incredible team will take Chophouse to an even higher level,” read the email.
The Dispatch is seeking more information as to whether the sale also affects Urban Meyer’s Pint House in Dublin, which is another venture between Corso and Meyer.
