Vermeer Southwest teams with Vermeer Rocky Mountain to form Vermeer Mountain West – Solar Builder

Vermeer Southwest has acquired and is combining forces with Vermeer Rocky Mountain to become Vermeer Mountain West. Combining these two adjacent Vermeer industrial dealers creates a contiguous network of nine dealership locations spanning the mountain west region of the United States.
Kyle Pieratt, who served as President and CEO of Vermeer Southwest, will continue to lead as the President and CEO of Vermeer Mountain West. The dealership will be headquartered in Chandler, Arizona, with branch locations in Tucson (AZ), Las Vegas (NV), Albuquerque (NM), El Paso (TX), Salt Lake City (UT), Boise (ID), Billings (MT) and Spokane (WA).
Vermeer Rocky Mountain was previously owned by Berry Roberts, who led the organization through its second generation of Roberts family leadership. Berry will serve as a trusted advisor for the company with key Vermeer Rocky Mountain customers as he transitions into retirement.
“We want to thank Berry and his family for the legacy they built in the Rocky Mountain region, and we look forward to continuing to build on this foundation,” said Pieratt. “Combining forces in a larger geographic region creates numerous opportunities for us to grow in how we serve our customers. With our new scale comes the ability to make strategic investments to better provide our customers with the equipment they need, when and where they need support, while seamlessly delivering the Vermeer brand promise built on our core value of customer service.”
Jason Andringa, President and CEO of Vermeer Corporation, commented, “As these two storied dealerships come together under a common vision to serve Vermeer customers across the Mountain West region, we see nothing but success ahead for the dealership, the team and the customers who count on them.”
We hosted a webinar with Vermeer last year, “A Driven Approach: Ground Mount Solar Pile Driver and Machine Control Basics” Topics included site prep, machine best practices and informative data. Additional pile driver site knowledge, pile designs, load testing and driver support techniques were shared. Access the recording on-demand here.
Vermeer‘s new PD10R pile driver can now be outfitted with automated machine positioning technology. Vermeer PD10R pile drivers equipped with a new point-to-point system can reposition themselves automatically using onboard GPS.
After driving a pile, the machine operator presses a button and the remote-control-operated PD10R travels and aligns itself to drive the next pile. This automation technology helps ease the pile-driving process by reducing the number of operational steps involved with moving these machines on solar farm construction projects.
We have a ton video interviews and additional content on our YouTube page. Recently we debuted Power Forward! — a collaboration with BayWa r.e. to discuss higher level industry topics as well as best practices / trends for running a solar business today.

Our longer running side project is The Pitch — in which we have awkward discussions with solar manufacturers and suppliers about their new technology and ideas so that you don’t have to. We’ve discusses everything from residential rail-less deck attaching and home solar financing to large-scale energy storage value stacking and utility-driven new home solar + storage microgrids.

We also post our Project of the Year announcements there! Interviews with this year’s winners will be up starting the week of Nov. 8. Head there and subscribe today to stay on top of all this extra stuff.
